It's a cross between a Shawl and a Sweater. It's as warm as a coat, but not as bulky and confining. In the car, if I get too warm, I just slip my hands out of the cuffs (sleeves) and flip it back over my shoulders. Much easier than getting out of a coat!
The pattern is written for One Size Fits Most, but it can be adjusted by adding or subtracting rows.
