My daughter wanted a sweater hand knit by her mother (me!) to take to college and feel the love! What loving mother could turn that request down? I had only knitted one sweater 30 years ago, and only multiple scarves since then, so it was a challenge to take on a large and important project. My daughter wanted a somewhat longer sweater in the body and sleeves than this pattern seemed to be, so I modified it by adding length and ribbing to the bottom of the body and sleeves, and also added a more finished neck as she desired. It turned out beautifully! (I did think I found an error in the shoulder shaping: when you sk2p I think you need to knit to the last FOUR stitches not 3 as stated in the pattern).
