This is my first project that's not a scarf or a cowl. For better or worse, as a novice knitter I wasn't aware of yarn substitution guidelines, and I used a thick and thin yarn because I really liked the color. The poncho did not turn out lacey, but it does have the angle to it. I still like it and have worn it several times.
