Dragon Skin Cowl

A very quick knit, I love the stitch pattern of the dragon scales, looks gorgeous in this yarn colour. I chose a rich burgundy/red shade.
The i-cord cast on and cast off give a beautiful and professional looking edge to the cowl and make it super soft to wear. Only minimal sewing involved when you graft the two edges of icord together at start and end of the knitting. The pattern links to brilliant tutorials on both these techniques.
I knitted four pattern repeats which made it as long as the original on the pattern pages, two repeats would make it to just under the chin. I wanted the longer length for extra warmth and so the recipient (my Mum probably) can wear it like a snood and keep both neck and head warm at the same time.
