Even though this blanket looks like it was knitted, I crocheted every stitch! The "border" is half double crochet, and the center is an alternating frontpost/backpost double crochet.The orignal pattern is for a full sized throw (57" x 74") and called for 88 oz of yarn. Because the pattern is a very simple repeat I was able to decrease the initial chain, and made a smaller baby blanket (a square of about 34"). The basketweave stitch results in a very thick, heavy blanket, but since the drape of Vanna's Choice is sooooo nice, the texture is superb. I'm having trouble letting this go!
