About us: Warm Up Cincinnati is a local chapter of Warm Up America! the charity that has warmed peoples' lives since 1991. It started in a small Wisconsin town with neighbors knitting and crocheting afghans for neighbors in need. Thanks to the creativity of founder Evie Rosen who came up with the idea of having volunteers knit or crochet small sections and then others join them together, the idea quickly caught on. Today Warm Up America distributes warm afghans, caps and other items to tens of thousands of people, thanks to the generosity of knitters and crocheters around the country.

Warm Up Cincinnati distributes afghans locally to people in need throughout the Cincinnati area.

If you are interested in donating your knitted or crocheted squares or would like more information on how to get involved, contact Catherine Butcher at or call me at 513-943-0778.

We make / need: Warm Up Cincinnati distributes afghans locally to people in need throughout the Cincinnati area.

How it Works:
Volunteers donate their time to crochet and knit a 7" x 9" rectangle (or more). Sections are sent to my home for collection, joining and distribution.

Who Receives the Afghans?
Afghans are distributed to individuals and families in need through community service organizations, as well as through chapters of national organizations such as the American Red Cross. The Warm Up America! Foundation encourages the donation of completed afghans within their own community in the true spirit of "neighbor helping neighbor." Agencies in the Cincinnati area to which we will donate include:

• Women's shelters
• Nursing homes
• Children's hospitals
• Children's Homes
• Hospitals
• Hospices
• Daycare centers
• Veterans' homes
• Churches
• AIDS facilities
• Homeless shelters
• American Red Cross chapters
• Salvation Army
