About us: The Happily Hooked on Crocheting Club, Chapter of the Crochet Guild of America, was founded in 2001 as a group of crocheters dedicated to preserving, promoting & teaching crochet (in the tri-state area) while also aiding local charities in the Danbury, CT area. In 2006, M. Jodi Rell, Governor of Connecticut, recognized this group for it's five years of good deeds.
New members are welcomed! Our group consists of crocheters of all abilities -- from beginner to Professional. And all ages too -- 10 to 80. (Children must have an adult sponsor). Local dues are required; they are less if new member is also a CGOA member. (www.crochet.org)
We make / need: The Happily Hooked on Crocheting Club has a motto that says it all: "Have Hook, Will Travel!" -- this group likes to go on field trips! This covers everything from checking out new yarn shops to participating in big events such as the CraftAdventure & The Big E (on Connecticut Day) in West Springfield, MA; and The Knit Out & Crochet Too! event in New York City.
Members' crochet hooks seemingly are always in motion (sometimes knitting needles too) as the group also aids local charities.
If you're looking to meet new people and learn more about crochet -- while having fun -- then do come check us out. The first meeting is free.
