About us: I volunteer for the American Cancer Society (as a Reach to Recovery trainer/coordinator.)This is just one part of ACS. We supply breast cancer patients with cancer information and support during their cancer journey.We often supply them with Chemo Hats/ Turbans . Any one can get involed with ACS. The reach program volunteers are cancer surviors who are trained and have fully adjusted to their breast cancer treatment experience so they may now give support to others.
We have relays for life,I can cope.Look Good feel better,educational programs and much more. We are in all 50 states and 40 counties. The American Cancer Society is Nationawide community -based volunary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer,saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer,through research,education,advocacy and service

We want the parents that lose a baby to know that someone cares and for the little ones in the NICU to know that someone is thinking of them during this difficult time.

About us: We are a non profet organization, we knit and crochet items such as prayer shawls, children's sweaters, baby blankets and layette sets for the funeral homes. Baby blankets for the Point Pleasant Hospital to be given out to people who can not afford anything for their babies, Right from the Start, unwed mothers. We make sweaters for the Knit for Kids and we have started for the homeless shelter here in Point Pleasant, WV. About us: The Kenova United Methodist Church Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who can, or wants to learn, to crochet or knit prayer shawls for shut-ins, terminally ill, or crisis care patients. When we have several shawls completed there is a service of consecration and then shawls are available for delivery by church members. We meet once or twice a month to give suggestions to beginners, but most are working on shawls at home.
We make / need: Shawls can be any shape or color. We believe it is the love, care, and prayers that are woven into the shawls that surround the receipient. Donations of homespun or similar weight yarn, any color, are gladly accepted. |

About us: We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization. Our annual auction is on October 24.That is our main source of income. We depend on other ways of making money like donuts sales, raffle ticket sales,and yard sales. We foster abandoned and owner surrender dogs. We give all necessary shots, medical attention such as illness, spay or neuters. We transport these animal to Salem, MA to a no kill facility for adoption. We welcome any new volunteers. They are always needed.
We make / need: I crochet afghans, rugs and dish cloths for sale as a way of making money for the league.

About us: Project Linus distributes blankets made my volunteers to kids in crisis and seriously ill kids. There are over 350 chapters across the United States that distribute blankets to hospitals, clinics, shelters, childrens camps and any other community service organizations that deal with crisis situations of children under the age of 18 as well as individual children ages 0 to 18 yrs of age who are going through an illness or crisis situation.
We are always looking for volunteers to make blankets. You do not have to know how to crochet, knit or sew to make a blanket. We also teach a no-sew blanket making technique.
We make / need: We accept new, handmade, washable blankets or any blanket making supplies such as acrylic yarn, cotton and cotton blend fabrics, quilt batting, sewing therad, sewing machines, office supplies and gift cards to stores selling such supplies. |
