Two of Wands

If you don’t want to add more projects to your queue then you might want to stop reading right about now. Alexandra’s designs transcend boundaries between classic and modern, comfort and sophistication. She is comfortable working across categories and her pattern library boasts garments, accessories, and home décor items. Here at Lion Brand we’re particularly drawn to the garments and have turned several into exclusive kits, like the Boyfriend Cardigan shown below.

The Boyfriend Cardigan by Two of Wands is available in 4 color combinations.

In A Name

Why Two of Wands? If Alexandra’s designs weren’t inspiring enough on their own, how about the story of how she found her name? In 2013 she scaled Mount Kilimanjaro (what?!) and had a conversation that would shape her path.

Inspritation Quotes

When she descended Mount Kilimanjaro she met a tarot reader who drew the Two of Wands card for her. The is card represents creativity and discovery. Alexandra took this as the motivation she needed to put her ideas for a design business in motion.

Design

Within a few short years Alexandra entered and has made her mark on the world of knit and crochet design. Coming from a background in cut-and-sew fashion, she had the knowledge required to structure beautiful patterns. Alexandra successfully draws on her smalltown roots and incorporates it into big city style.

The intersection of aesthetic and function isn’t the easiest point to find, but Two of Wands designs found that point. In Alexandra’s words,

“ My style is chic but playful, and because as a consumer I tend to shop and wear so many different styles, my designs also have influence from many different directions.”

Alexandra enjoys working with an array of fibers and yarn. Of course, we wanted to know what her favorite Lion Brand Yarn is!

Wool-Ease Thick + Quick® is always my go-to, but I’ve been doing some projects lately with the regular worsted Wool-Ease® and love it as well!”
