April is Stress Awareness month and today, April 16, is “Stress Day.” (Coincidentally it’s also “Wear Pajamas to Work Day.” Being that it’s Sunday and most of us are probably missing out on this opportunity, I petition to have it observed tomorrow.)
For some people the path to stitching away stress is an intricate pattern to give themselves focus and direction. The idea being that the more involved the project, the less thought can be given to outside factors. Other folks may prefer a simple project that requires minimal concentration. I personally fall somewhere in the middle. When stress levels are rising I find myself reaching for an advanced beginner or easy intermediate type project. Something with a pattern that can be memorized, but has enough going on that I don’t find myself dwelling on my stress. Earlier this month we were working on the Stratus Wrap here at the Lion Brand office. This would be a perfect Stitch Away Stress
