31 Ways Knitting and Crochet Will Change Your Life … and Make You Healthier

The research is in and there’s no denying it: people who knit and crochet have a much better chance at staying healthy, being happy and getting organized.

group-knitting_08022014In the past few years, reports from authoritative sources such as CNN, the Huffington Post and Oxford University, cite evidence to support the fact that knitting and crochet can change your life in many ways … and for the better.

  • “… authoritative sources like CNN …”????

  • …and the Huffington Post????

  • I’ve used crochet to help me with the grief of losing my husband and mother in the same year. I know when I can crochet it helps me keep a positive attitude. Great to hear that other people find the same type of comfort and stress relief from this hobby.

    • Sorry for your losses. I’m a knitter and find it totally consuming.

  • At least they don’t mention FOX “news”.

    • Fox news is not telling people about crochet and knit, they are actually telling people the real news. Fair and balanced, as well.

  • #19-get organized. What a hoot! (in a good way) My housework, chores and errands always seem to be waiting for me. Crocheting is so relaxing and peaceful. I love to shop for yarn, and I have the stash to prove it! =^-^=

  • Although I agree that knitting and crochet has many health benefits I seem to note in the aforementioned list that several ideas are mentioned in various formats 2 to 3 times i.e. delay aging process, Alzheimer’s and cognitive impairment all referred to the same idea. I too have used my knitting to help alleviate both emotional and physical stress, my knitting travels with me almost everywhere. In fact I keep an emergency knitting bag with your name in needles in my car as I have been known to get stranded in a snowstorm.

  • I’m sorry I did not proofread my last post which should have read I keep a knitting bag in my car with needles and yarn as I have been known to get stranded in a snowstorm.
