Cute Warm and Fast!

I finished the hat up last night at my knitting group! It was fast!

Picture 256.jpg

Here is what I did. I used the Green Knifty Knitter round loom. I used one skein of Wool Ease Thick and Quick.
I cast on all pegs and worked in the round. To make the garter stitch pattern look you will knit one row the purl the next row. Keep alternating knit and purl rows through the whole body of the hat.
Knit till the peice is 8 inches long.
Then cast off.
Make a 2 stitch I cord about 24 inches long. Weave that in and out aroud the top about 2 or 2 1/2 inches down from the cast off edge.(I made mine in the same color but it looks cute in a contrasting color too!)
So unlike the original needle knit pattern we have no seam to sew up! I think that is a plus! And we get the same results! So if you are looking for a fast knit gift for the holidays then make up one of these hats!!

Looks wonderful! I am looking for more hat patterns and happen to have a bunch of Thick & Quick. I think I'll try this one.

Nice hat! Question: Where did you get the styrofoam head? It would be great to use those for hats I sell at a local craft fair. Thanks.

How do you knit one row and purl the next using the loom? I don't understand.
