Spool knitting for Mardi Gras

Spool knitting for Mardi Gras
by Noreen Crone-Findlay (c)

There has been a lot of gorgeous frost here lately.
Frost always inspires me to make lace.....

And, when someone made a comment about Mardi Gras,
I just had to make a Mardi Gras mask with
crocheted lace on it, and tatting, and of course:
spool knitting!

Well.... with me, one thing always leads to another,
so....
I had to make a white one, too.....

I wrote all about how I designed and built the masks on my other blog.
You can see how I did them by copying this link and clicking on it:

I'll never go to Mardi Gras, but I think I'll be making a lot more of these masks!

Gift of love

A gift of love:
Spool knitted heart
by Noreen Crone-Findlay (c)

Our daughter in law,Alli, has just fallen in love with spool knitting and crochet.

When she learned that my husband and I were feeling  expecially sad
about the deaths of his mother and sister,

she got her spool knitter out, and spool knitted a heart,
and then
crocheted portraits of Mum and Patty.

She wanted us to feel like Mum and Patty are extra close to us.
And they are.
And so is she!
What an amazing and wonderful gift.

Love has no limits....

I hope 2008 will be full of love,
joy, healing, harmony and delight,
wellness and abundance.

Happy New Year!

hugs all round
Noreen
PS: Our daughter made us the wonderful yoyo trimmed wreath.
Doesn't it frame the spool knitted heart beautifully?
A circle of love!
