WHAT'S
NEW?September 2000
It’s that time of year again: Time for the Craft Yarn Council of America’s third Annual Knit-Out on Sunday, September 24:
Knit-Out 2000 & Crochet. In cities around the country, people will be coming out to knit (and crochet)-or to learn how-and
to show their latest projects, see new styles, get tips…all in all, to enjoy the best that yarn crafts have to offer. The
flagship event this year will take place in New York City’s Union Square Park from Noon til 5:00 P.M.. There will be: • Free
knit and crochet lessons
• Live fashion shows (including “Woof Wear”, a fashion show for pets!)
• “Show & Tell” (a place to share your favorite knit and crochet projects)
• “911-the Sweater Doctor” will answer questions
• Kids in Action-hands-on fun
• “Author, Author”: Meet best-selling authors and exchange ideas with leading editors
• Demonstrations
• High Tech/Soft Touch-computers and crafts combine to update knitting and crochet
• Displays-the latest yarns, patterns, accessories, and the newest cool tools
• Guilds, classes, clubs
• Charity knitting and crochet programs (Start now and bring a 7" x 9" knitted or crocheted square to
the Knit-Out. Squares will be joined with others to make “Warm Up America!” patchwork afghans for people in
need.) For more information, go to www.knit-out.com. For an
account of last year’s Knit-Out, see our “What’s New” from December 1999. If you’re in the New York
metro area, we look forward to seeing you at the Knit-Out! |
